| PASTOR’S LAST SUNDAY Rev. Dennis Dinger preached his first sermon at Hope on Fathers Day, 1986. He will preach his last sermon on October 15th 2006. Pastor served Hope for eight years before being appointed to the Toledo District. He returned to Hope in June 2002. Pastor will turn 62 years old on October 6th and is retiring to conserve his health following two heart attacks and by-pass surgery a few years ago. Rev. Dinger holds the distinction of being the only pastor in the West Ohio Conference to ever be appointed twice to the same church. He has served Hope for 12 years, the second- longest pastorate in the 190 year history of our Church. During his tenure: Fellowship Hall became Hanby Hall; a new sound system was installed in the sanctuary; the power-point/big screen/live telecast system was installed; two Associate Pastors and a Director of Children’s; Ministries were added to staff; a second summer worship service was added to the schedule; a lively and still-emerging partnership with Faith Church has begun; and we are in the process of purchasing a new parsonage for our future pastors. In addition Rev. Dinger volunteered extensively within our CW community. He held many offices in the Lions Club and severed as President in 1992-93. He served for many years as a leader of the Canal Winchester Human Services Corporation. And of course, who can ever forget his years as Master of Ceremonies for the Canal Winchester Labor Day Festival? Pastor and Mrs. Dinger will reside in St. Cloud, Florida. Good-bye and Godspeed, Dennis & Carla |
