Relay For Life Wrap Up                        



                                               

           The Canal Winchester 2008 Relay For Life is now past but it is still a time
for great Celebration, Remembering and Fighting Back.  In Canal Winchester,
the Relay For Life raised over $102,000.00 so far and the counting doesn’t end
until August!  The Hope United Methodist Church HOPE FOR HOPE team is
currently in first place for fundraising with a total of just over $9,000.00.

All of the team members who did an outstanding job of pre event fundraising –
especially Jan Baughman for selling over 500 candy bars.  Also to the Kids of
Hope Church for selling too!

The American Cancer Society is so appreciative of all of our efforts and will be
using the funds for their many programs including:

Ohio Cancer Research Institutes
Grants for Community projects for cancer prevention, early detection and
quality of life
Community based cancer resource centers for obtaining cancer prevention and
quality of life information for care givers.
Hope Lodge
Look Good – Feel Better Program
Cleveland and Cincinnati Hope Lodges
Reach for Recovery for Breast Cancer patients
Transportation grants for providing transportation for patients to medical
appointments
Youth survivor scholarships
School district health conferences
STAMP – (Stay Tobacco free Athlete Mentor Program)
National Cancer Information Center answered 992,867 calls last year delivering
cancer information.
